Hola from Barcelona!

Gaudi madness!! Ever since I got here I´ve been going crazy over the architecture. Gaudi and the Mies van der Rohe restoration of his Paris exhibition. OMFG!!! Not to mention the Gothic quarter of the city.

Barcelona´s beautiful, but I´m not sure how I feel about the people.... They seem mystified by the fact that I´m Asian, I get swarmed by little children asking me if I´m from China, questioned by adults, and picked on by teenagers. I don´t think I´ve ever encountered such ignorance. I guess that´s what their culture is like.

Today we went to Stiges and lemme tell you it was absolutely beautiful. We went to a nearly empty beach-- there were a lot of nudists around. I don´t think I want to see so many old old men at one beach ever again. Other than that I got a pretty nice tan!

Hello from sunny Marseille!

This place is beautiful!! It looks even better than the postcards. Rutzie and I skipped Nice to meet up with friends in Marseille and it was worth it. Where Nice is a real tourist place for the Brits, Marseille gives you insight into the people and the culture. As a matter of fact, they don't seem to like foreign tourists, but are a little more pleasant with other French visitors.

Before Marseille, we were in Paris. Can't talk too much about that, except that the city requires weeks to explore.

That's all for now, this French keyboard is killing me.

The Land of Song

I've spent the past 4 days in breathtaking Wales. I absolutely loved it there. Went on the Shaggy Sheep tour and was completely blown away.

Did loads of stuff which I will talk about later, but I climbed 2 mountains!! The first was the highest in South Wales-- the Brecon Beacons, and the second was the highest in all of Wales-- Mount Snowdon. I couldn't make it all the way up Mount Snowdon, and only managed to hike 775 of the 1085 meters. We had to turn back because the weather was so bad which was a good thing because I nearly got swept off a cliff at one part of the path. The gail force winds knocked me down onto my hands and knees, while the rain drenched my clothes. Needless to say I was pretty happy to reach the safety of the village :)

I think that's all I'll write for now. I miss everyone a lot, and I'm feeling a little homesick. This hostel business is really getting to me. The one I'm staying at for the next few days isn't the greatest and I want to scream. Someone take me back to Wales, where our hostels were top notch, and where I even got to stay at a bed and breakfast. I miss my Bootsy and I hope his trip is going well.

Haggis Fest!!

I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland right now and the city is gorgeous!! Clean, quiet, and full of character. The people here are super friendly (possibly nicer than the ones we encountered in London), and it's just really comfortable here.

The flight in was a little insane. The airport girl was a crazy and snapping at everyone. And the landing was a real rough one. We hit the tar-mac with a really big THUD! I'm not sure where the pilot went to school, but it was the roughest landing I've ever experienced...

There are castles everywhere and so we're going to go exploring throughout the city, and muster up the courage to take a ghost tour!!!

More on Scotland another day!! Over and out!

Hello from London!

Howdy, howdy. I'm here in London. Finally! After years of wanting, wishing and hoping to come, I'm finally here. The city is beautiful, and the people are really friendly. Although the pigeons and squirrels are super crazy. They have no fear and will eat right out of your hands. At least they don't look and act demented like the ones in Toronto.

Tomorrow it's the Tower of London, and Big Ben, and anything else in that area! In the evening I'm off to enjoy some time in Scotland :) Mary Queen of Scots here I come!

Life is all about ass...

I'm trying to clean my room before I leave and it's hopeless. There's so much crap it's like a hurricane hit my room. Papers, books, binders and clothes-- all in one heaping mess! I did find a note that made me chuckle. It was something a cousin had said.

Life is all about ass... either you are covering it, kicking it, kissing
it, or trying to get a piece of it

Isn't that true? Ha, ha, ha!

Attack of the Birds

Yesterday I went and picked up my brand spanking new car. I'm really excited about my first set of wheels, but this has only been possible after carefully tucking away the idea of being broke for the rest of my life.

On more pressing matters, there must exist some sort of affinity between new cars and birds. Today as I was going to go and get my car inspected for the insurance purposes, I was attacked by a flock of birds who suddenly decided to shit all over my car. My nice... clean... shiny... car. Needless to say I was pissed like you wouldn't believe. Did they aim for my car? What was it that made them choose my car?!? So after the guy sent off digital pics of my shit covered car, I quickly drove home to spray it clean. And not even after a day of enjoying my new car it was already-- spoiled.

Birds.... I shall have my revenge [fist shaking in air]

Only a few more days till I leave for Europe!

Just let me win the Lotto!!!

I've spent some time thinking about what to write... After having finished my exams nearly 2 weeks ago, I haven't done much of anything. Just some crazy stories here and there.

The one thing that's bothered me the most have been the astronomical costs of my trip :( [sigh]. I've been planning my grad trip for a while, budgeting like crazy, but everything in Europe seems to be so expensive!! Continental Europe isn't sooo bad because the exchange rate is almost infinitely better than the UK's. If ever I felt money burn in my pocket, it was when I was at the bank exchanging money for British Notes. In the end I know that this trip will be worth it, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that I'll win the lotto. Only a few more days before I leave and I still haven't started packing yet. Aiiiiiya!!!
